After experimenting in my sketch book i started to think about how to combine Alice Potter to the fauvism colours i have been experimenting with.
I decided to keep the more feminine feeling of Alice potters illustration but use fauvism inspired colour schemes....
I started taking some of my paintings and drawings and editing them on photo shop.
I then started taking my collages and editing them. I started thinking about them as surface patterns and how that might work.
I really likes how these looked and wanted to keep going with the idea of using my digital collages but keeping the original idea of "style" and the fauvism colours.
I wanted to think about the themes of the unit, urban and rural. So i started thinking about rural animals, nature, botanic's, landscapes ect. I started thinking about urban, cityscapes, textures and i thought about graffiti. I started thinking about banksy, how his work is technically a surface pattern.
I wanted to focus on something that would go across walls and buildings in an urban environment. I thought about how my collages would translate in this way i wanted to make a few to try.
I wanted to look at how more abstracted collages would do on walls keeping in mind my theme of rural. So i started making collages.

I liked this idea as a surface pattern but i wanted to keep in mind the theme urban and rural so i thought about using elements of rural animals, landscapes and natural forms. I started reserching and came across and artist called Remi Rough.
Remi Rough is an artist from South London. Rough first started as a street artist in the 1980s nd then moved to gallery art. His compositions are abstract with coloured shapes and straight edges.I wanted to look at how more abstracted collages would do on walls keeping in mind my theme of rural. So i started making collages.
I then decided to see how these translated onto walls / buildings...

I do think some of these worked and some did not, it is defiantly something i am taking forward for my final idea and will work on this on another blog.

Really good considered work!
