We were asked to play around with lighting for out photography unit this week, i decided to just use myself as it was easier to take the time to do it without time restrictions. I decided to try using at first natural lighting shining through a window.
I then decided to use a candle... i needed to turn all the lights off and make sure my house was as dark as i could make it and then played around with how to position the candle.
I then tried using a light bulb. These ones i liked the most.
This is my hair ( very lightly ) over my face and the light is picking up all the fine hairs and creating shadows in my face. I have always liked using strong contrasting light and i have no doubt that it will be a recurring theme in my photography unit.

This one i used my hand against the bulb to create streaks of shadow. i liked this because i could take my time in moving it around to make different shapes. I then thought if i can do that with my hand could i do with with something else to make a sort of pattern?
