I have been drawing everyday since i started this course and i am looking at my progression, i really wanted to have a look as i have been focusing on photography at the moment and wanted to take a moment to evaluate my progress. I wanted to keep it on my blog along with my current work, as a reference for myself.
I started by looking at my drawings when i applied for this course.
I could see my skill growing a lot at this point. I began to get very precious over this work, when i drew, i was scared to go too far that i would ruin it and i know that is something i need to get over. I was very inspired by Egon Schiele, i fell in love with his work and i wanted to learn more, after reading books and doing research on him i learned he produced a lot of work, A LOT of work. And a lot of quick drawings and sketches.
I decided to try this out i started with characters, drawn, from a secondary source, of my favourite characters from films and the comics i grew up reading. I went for it, in pen, and did it quickly and scribbling it down not caring what the outcome was so much as trying to capture shape.
I wanted to capture the feeling of the character, so the joker for example, is a wild, crazy and eccentric character i wanted to capture the feeling of the inside of the subject, rather than the look, which i learned from reading about Schiele's work. This helped me not be precious about my work because i was literally scribbling over it. This also made me think about how i see the world how do i look at people. i continued this idea.
This is a style of work i want to keep going and progress on. It has sparked an interest in me and i cant wait to see how far it goes.

I then looked at the drawing i drew at the very start of this course before i really began any units.
I then looked at some of the drawing i did when i was in the middle of my first few units, some at home some in class.
